The Fray - Never Say Never

04 October 2009
I don't know what it is about The Fray's songs, but I love them all. They are mostly much more mellow than your average song, but they're good 'thinking' songs. I listened to their whole album twice on my drive to Flaming Gorge last week and discovered new things about each song every time I listened to it. And their lyrics are always meaningful and actually make sense (sometimes an artist has great music, but their lyrics hardly make any sense). I just really like the chorus - it's simple and pretty much only 4 words, but it somehow has a great effect and it doesn't seem matter that it's the same line over and over.

Never Say Never
There's some things we don't talk about
Rather do without
And just hold the smile
Falling in and out of love
Ashamed and proud of
Together all the while

You can never say never
Why we don't know when
Time and time again
Younger now than we were before

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
[x2]

Picture you're the queen of everything
As far as the eye can see
Under your command
I will be your guardian
When all is crumbling

Steady your hand

You can never say never
Why we don't know when
Time, time and time again
Younger now then we were before

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
[x2]

We're pulling apart and coming together again and again
We're growing apart but we pull it together
Pull it together, together again

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
